Story of my friend - Sherman ( Cont )

Sayram sensed an interference in the atmosphere and Grendel detected a disturbance in the magical force surrounding the cavern. The 5 masters knew Horntail was near and immediately began to power up, casting skills to help them in the fight. Even so, Horntail did not appear. Hellin felt curious about the violet crystal hovering there and went to it. At just a touch with her fingertips, the crystal began to glow brightly and disintegrated. Without warning, a magical symbol appeared in the middle of the cavern, followed by a blinding light and a deafening roar. The cave shook under the force of the might roar, and out of the deeper parts of the cave, emerged Horntail, the evil dragon which rebelled against the Nine Dragon Spirits and stole its egg. Its 3 menacing heads stared coldly at the 5 masters on the ground beneath it. The 5 masters regained their positions and quickly moved away in time to dodge a massive slam from Horntail’s tail, which was just as dangerous.

The 5 masters wasted no time. Sayram had gone into a maddened rage and released the power in the form of aural orbs surrounding him, increasing his attack power while he continuously brandishes his sword against Horntail’s left head. Grendel immediately made use of the ice in the cavern, turning them into sharp and formidable icy spears to rain on Horntail while healing his comrades who got hit by Horntail. Anthena summoned her Pheonix for additional attacking force and unleashes her strongest skill called Storm of Arrows, where arrows are fired with the speed and destructive power of a hurricane. She focused her attacks towards Horntail’s tail which proved an annoyance. Hellin joined Sayram in his fight against Horntail’s left head, swiftly throwing sharp shurikens made of crystal in amounts of 3 at once. She summons a shadow clone of herself and doubles the amount of attack she does. Kyrin summons her battleship and fire cannonballs of great power and directs her wrath towards the tail with Anthena. It was not long before the tail became dead under the heavy attacks and turned into stone. Horntail was outraged, and its main head began breathing flames as hot as the core of the earth. Sayram and Hellin backed away from the left head and proceeded to attack Horntail’s legs, which turned into stone as well since it was the second weakest body part of Horntail. While they destroyed the legs, Kyrin and Anthena have already destroyed the right arm and right wing of Horntail and were attacking the left arm and left wing. Grendel had severely weakened that arm before, and it turned into stone after some minor efforts, leaving the 3 heads of Horntail.

But now, Horntail was going in a maddened rage. As Sayram rushed in close to Horntail’s main head to slash it, Horntail merely blew out a breath of ice which caused a minor blizzard, sending Sayram crashing into a part of the cavern and severely wounding him. Anthena began her Storm of Arrows attack, but could not completely focus since she had to dodge Horntail’s immense breath attacks from time to time. Grendel had to teleport around to cast spells for the same reason. Kyrin had to get off her battleship due to its low mobility and use her customized revolver instead for rapid fire. Hellin seemed to have the least trouble at this time. She had an amazing amount of avoidability, plus she has skills that increase her evasion rate. She focused on Horntail’s left head that was wounded earlier by her and Sayram, and eventually that head turned into stone. However, Horntail now channeled that head’s power to his right head, which can now cast ice breath and lightning attacks. This was a huge problem, and anybody who gets too close will get severely wounded. Unfortunately, while attacking this head, Kyrin accidentally misjudged Horntail’s attack and got hit by a strong breath of lightning which sent her knocking into the cavern wall, followed by a cascade of cavern ice from the ceiling which buried her. Sayram saw what happened, and went into a great berserk. He channeled his the power of his aural orbs into his sword, and, with a mightly slash, dealt a blow so great that it shook part of the cavern and instantly killed Horntail’s right head. But this move had used up most of Sayram’s strength, and he could not do much, except to save Kyrin from the pile of cavern ice that fell on her.

The main head was going berserk too, and breathed fire even greater that Sayram’s godlike strength. Grendel found another great use from the cavern ice and formed a shield to block Horntail’s immense breath of fire. Anthena and Hellin continued their attacks on Horntail’s last head while Sayram removed the piles of cavern ice to release Kyrin, who was knocked unconscious. Grendel thought back about how Sayram killed Horntail through the use of his aural orbs, and beckoned Anthena and Hellin to transfer some of their powers to Sayram while he blocked Horntail’s attack with his ice made shield. Sayram, now with more strength, closed in on Horntail’s head and began slashing at it, charging up his aural orbs. When it was fully charged, Sayram took a great leap to Horntail’s main head for the final blow. However, Horntail opened its jaws and a great flame began to charge inside. When Sayram struck the final blow, Horntail fired. The simultaneous action from both attacks caused a collision force so great that it shook the entire continent of Ossyria. Horntail’s roar echoed throughout the entire continent, and its final head, reared up in pain and turned to stone. Horntail was dead once and for all.

Outside the collapsed cave entrance, the 5 masters stood in pride as they held the Nine Spirit Dragon’s egg and watched the land turn back to normal – the forests of Leafre were rich and green once again, but the icy part of the forest could not regain its previous form since Horntail had drained too much energy from it. Even though Ossyria was saved, everyone could not control the sadness that overcame them, when Kyrin released her last breath, and silently passed away after the demise of Horntail…
